DuralChrome was born out the notion of printing deep, rich, vibrant images onto virtually any media or substrate.
The company’s name is derived from two concepts: the fantastic ‘durability’ of our images; and from the world-famous ‘Kodachrome‘ film brand developed by Kodak. Since my father was a semi-professional photographer, I grew up with Kodachrome that was made for over 70 years and was a favourite of many professional and serious amateur photographers for its excellent colour rendition. Some of the world’s most famous images and movies were ‘shot’ on Kodachrome, including the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and ‘Afghan Girl’ by Steve McCurry.
The same passion for excellence that drove Leopold Godowsky Jr. and Leopold Mannes to spend almost 20 years in the original development of the film and subsequent processing technology during the 1920s and 1930s drives our people to deliver picture-perfect images to you on the media or substrate of your choice.
We expect to introduce you to a new world of printing, much the same as Kodachrome did for photography.
